This rug has been a nice addition to my living room, offering a clean and modern look with its soft texture. The non-slip feature was definitely a highlight for me, as it stays in place without any slipping, even in high-traffic areas. It’s machine washable, which is a great convenience, and the overall feel is quite pleasant underfoot. However, after a few weeks of use, I noticed some shedding, which was a bit of a letdown. While it still looks good in my space and serves its purpose, I’m not sure it’s as durable as I hoped for something meant to be practical and long-lasting. Still, it’s a good rug for the price.

I didn't realise it was as nice and soft as it is. I bought it for under my office chair at home to keep the floor scratch free. Now I'm thinking I should get more of these in the bedroom too instead of the shaggy ones I have now, as this would be easier to clean. Really good price for what it is.

This is the second rug I've had from Amazon, and some of my previous comments bear repeating for this one. As described, it comes tightly folded so you will find visible creases. We have wooden and tiled floors throughout our bungalow and a number of rugs already, so knew what to do upon delivery. It's best to unpack/unroll the rug and inspect where the most obvious creases are, then roll up again in the opposite direction and leave for 24 hours at normal room temperature. Next day, unroll and repeat but with the reverse side turned uppermost. After 48 hours, place your rug as desired and vacuum it in multi-directions and walk over as normal. Following a bit of usage and wear/vacuuming any creases should soon disappear. In the product description it's claimed the rug backing is non-slip. To an extent I agree; certainly placed on another carpet or rug it may be fine (not to my satisfaction though), but on wooden floors there's still a degree of slipping/curling up. The rug is not heavy weight, so for wooden floors or tile laying I'd recommend adding some anti-slip carpet tape to the backing side edges. The geometrical pattern in black and grey is attractive and the rug should suit deployment in various rooms. Note that the stated width of 4 foot is incorrect, mine was short of that by fully 2 inches - so someones metric conversion has been lost in translation. If the stated width is critical for your intended placement/room layout bear this in mind. Despite the incorrect width, the rug is fine in all other respects for my intended purpose. That's placement alongside a sofa bed in a small spare room that doubles as an office. It will protect the wooden floor, coupled with an existing computer desk mat for my chair castors to run over. The Amazon listing does need updating though to accurately inform potential customers of the correct dimensions, so in this instance i'm only awarding 3 stars. I like the short pile, which is easy to clean and the rug itself is apparently machine washable (but IMO for that it will need to be folded up first). The short pile is also better with pets, though we do find our cat likes to try and have a go at clawing a [very] short pile hall runner, which we deter by a loud shout and occasional use of a citrus spray to the runner.

More of a mat than a rug, this Betadistor Grey Soft Short Pile Area Rug has very soft fleece-like feel on the top but it's very thin. The top surface feels more like a throw you'd put over your sofa rather than something you'd put on the floor, but maybe that's a nice thing, it feels quite cosy. The underside has a non-slip coating that stops it slipping around which works quite well. However the rug's so thin it doesn't take much to flip over a corner as you walk over it, it will depend on what kind of floor you put it on. The pattern we chose, the Grey 06000 option, has an appealing look, it's interesting and distinctive without being overbearing. There's a nice mix of tones and colours too, including some pink speckles, and it would fit in a lot of decors. It's easily kept, the short pile means nothing much gets embedded so it vacuums easily - but you'll have to turn the suction down because it's so thin it gets sucked up off the floor very easily. I wanted one to use in front of a desk to stop an office chair's castors causing damage to a wood floor, I've used a polycarbonate floor protector in the past but didn't like the look of it or the way it grinds grit into the floor if you're not careful. This rug works quite well, it feels nicer beneath your feet and looks much better than a plastic sheet and so far has kept the floor protected. The only disadvantage is that this rug generates quite a bit of static electricity and can cause little sparks when you touch something earthed - static electricity is also very bad news for electronic devices so care would be needed. It isn't the most luxurious rug, quite the opposite really, but it works to give a quick facelift to a dull floor or to keep superficial wear and tear to a minimum.
